April was such a busy month for us – we had travelled to Hawaii to see my family for the first time in almost three years. You would think I’d have time on a 10 hour flight to get around to reading but I just read one book, watched some movies, slept since it was such an early flight in, and play some Sudoku and Word Search. If you don’t follow me on Instagram make sure you do that to see what we were up to in Oahu! With that said, I wasn’t able to get around to my April Reading List like I had hoped. So this month I am doing a May Reading Recommendation List, which is a list of some my favorite books from the past months.
Atomic Habits by James Clear
Starting the year and the list with this book was such a good idea. This really made me think about my mindset when approaching things, particularly habits. The book centers around the four stages of developing a habit and the laws of behavior change. This was all over the social media world and if there is one book to read about habit its definitely this one!
In Five Years By Rebecca Serle
In February I had posted a video on Pinterest of “Novels to Read if you don’t like Novels” and by a landslide everyone in the comments of that video said “In Five Years” is the best book. It really hones in on the idea that even though you have everything planned not everything goes as planned. As someone who has this characteristic this really resonated with me, which is why I enjoyed it very much and would highly recommend it.
Everything is #@%!ed A Book About Hope by Mark Manson
From my March Reading List we have this amazing book. I couldn’t stop highlighting parts of the book because they were so profound. I learned a lot from this book and it really changed my mindset. I’m definitely a pessimistic optimist so that’s why these type of books peak my interest.
I hope to be able to catch up with the books I didn’t get around to this month of May. There are so many books that are on my “TBR List” and it’s never ending. I also get a lot of questions about that so I created a guide on Instagram of some of the books on my to be read list. Also, make sure to comment below some of your favorite books so I can add them to my list. I always love getting book recommendations. It’s a love language in itself!
