I have been slow to read this year; I keep thinking I will get into it and read a bunch but it just doesn’t seem to happen in my favor since I am very behind on my reading list as you saw from my May Reading list. This might be a bit ambitious by adding four more books to what seems like my endless reading list but here we are. I created an Instagram guide of what on My TBR List if you are interested in checking that out. Anyway, here is my June Reading List nonetheless:
The Paris Apartment By Lucy Foley
Just like how I fell for “The Silent Patient” I fell for yet another thriller. I am a little skeptical as there were so many mixed review on this book but I do want to give it a read and see what’s up.
Bright-sided: How Positive Thinking Is Undermining America By Barbara Ehrenreich
The summary of this book was so thought-provoking that I had to give it a read. I really do think I will agree with a lot of the authors sentiment on how American positive thinking is breaking our society in a lot of ways.
Save Me from Dangerous Men By S. A. Lelchuk
I am a sucker for FBI, CIA, Private Investigator type of reads and this is one of them I think I might enjoy. The interesting thing is the reviews have this comment of it being “strange”. I am not sure why but I am excited to find out what’s strange about this read.
The Object of Your Affections By Falguni Kothari
When I read the summary of this book it reminded me of one of my favorite reads – In Five Years. I also love the aspect of breaking cultural norms. The line in the summary reads “she trades Mumbai for New York” really hits home – I personally traded Hawaii for New York and my husband traded Beirut for New York. Let’s see where this storyline takes us.
I hope you enjoyed my June Reading list. I would love to know what good book recommendations you have so make sure to leave me some below. Also, if you have read any of the books I listed above make sure to comment below what your thoughts are. I’d love to know!
