Vegetarian Options
Fatteh
Fatteh is a nostalgia dish for us! You can make this with either chicken or chickpeas. Our favorite is the chickpeas version for a light but comforting option. The bottom layer is crispy pita bread, then chickpeas, cumin, yogurt garlic sauce, and a drizzle of olive oil.
Falafel
Normally, falafel is fried but we have been baking our falafel for a little healthier option. Don’t forget to add a side of vegetables like tomatoes, cucumbers, and onions. And the most important part is the talatoor sauce, which is a tahini base falafel sauce.
Fool
Fava beans aka fool topped with the tahini sauce mentioned above. Don’t forget your sides; pita bread, onion to scoop it with, olives, tomatoes, and my favorite radish!
Meat Options
Shawarma
The perfect trifecta: tender meat, tomatoes, and onions! With of course, the star of the show being the seven spices for the meat marinade.
Chicken Tawouk
The trick to a tender chicken tawouk recipe is yogurt and lemon in the marinade. What a lot of people also don’t know is oregano is the secret ingredient. Eat this delicious chicken tawouk with the infamous garlic toum, which is a delicious garlic sauce to dip your chicken into.
Tikka Kebab
I adore tikka kebab. I always order this when I go to restaurants so I had to bring it home. Our favorite sides are Lebanese salata and of course hummus!
As you can see a lot of Lebanese dishes are served with a side of pita bread, hummus, salata, and delicious sauces. From our favorite toum sauce for the chicken tawouk to the tahini sauce that can be used for a variety of things. Let us know which of these easy Lebanese meals ideas you are going to try next!

Oh wow, this post instantly made my mouth water!! I love Lebanese food and since my husband is vegetarian, it’s perfect! I love the different texture and flavour-packed dishes! I once had a friend staying over and she showed me how to make hummus, but haven’t dared to make it myself yet afterwards. Must try it one day and will combine it with some of your dishes too! 🙂
I generally have a hard time finding Lebanese recipes that I like because I hate ALL beans – including chickpeas and garbanzo beans (hummus). But that recipe for Shawarma looks absolutely delicious! I’ll have to try it out!
