As we bring in the New Year we start to set some goals for ourselves. Personally, I haven’t quite figured mine out yet because these past few years have been unpredictable due to the pandemic. However, I know one of my goals is to read more and as I’ve previously mentioned self-help is one of my favorite genres. So to tie in the theme of a New Year, New Me I thought I’d suggest some self-help books to read in 2022.
It’s Not Supposed to be This Way by Lysa Terkeurst
This book is perfect for this season of life with the pandemic. Showcasing her personal accounts on how to deal/handle life when things don’t go your way. I am a complete planner and perfectionist so this quite beneficial for someone with that personality type or if you have been struggling with the pandemic ruining your life plans/goals.
The Gifts of Imperfection by Brené Brown
Brené Brown has soon become one of my favorite authors. I enjoy her writing style and her approach/thought processes for things. This book is your average self-help book but it provides you with some groundbreaking mindsets on how to embrace your imperfections.
How to be an Imperfectionist by Stephen Guise
Piggy-back on the above theme of imperfectionism. This is a complete guide on how to become an imperfectionist, especially if you are like me and need an extra push to embody and embrace the imperfections.
Atomic Habits by James Clear
You’ve probably seen this book going around the bookstagram and booktok world, and you’ve probably heard the importance of habits in your life. This book just gives you the framework on how to improve your daily life with the habits you create and cultivate.
I hope you enjoyed this little self-help books to read in 2022 post. If the self-help genre is not your thing, make sure to check out some of the other books on my book list.
I’ve only read one of the featured books – Brene Brown. Love her work. I look forward to hearing how you enjoy it. I’ll add the others to my list.
This is a great list of books, the imperfectionist looks interesting along with the pandemic journal.
Appreciate this list. I’ve been meaning to spend more time reading actual books on these personal development perspectives instead of videos and blogs. So many valuable gems!
What a great collection of helpful books. I myself am someone who appreciates some good motivational reading and look at how others deal with difficulties. Thanks for sharing.
This is an interesting article with self help books suggestions. I support not being a perfectionist in order to get started and learn from failure!
Thank you for this list. I wish I could comment more thoroughly on this post but unfortunately I haven’t read any of these. They look like inspiring books though, especially the ones which promote imperfections. If you stop by my blog too and comment, please consider the difference between an opinion and a selection of books which one hasn’t read. Despite my wanting to comment with as much insight as possible, it’s not always easy with product posts. I hope you understand. Thank you and happy new year.
I haven’t read any of these books! Love self help books, so will def look for them in the library when my kids put their books on hold
