March is one of the hardest months to get through since you are right on the cusp of the beautiful Spring weather. To get me through this month I am going to need some good books. We have a diverse list of life experiences and self-help which I am looking forward to. As we get to the Spring months I will maybe transition to novels again like previous months. Here is my March reading list:
How to Pronounce Knife by Souvankham Thammavongsa
In February I did an interview with a Columbia University Masters student who was focusing on Armenian identity. It aligned with the book I was reading which was How to Pronounce Knife. This is a culmination of immigrant stories and a peak into their lives and finding identity in a new country. Since I am in the middle of this book I hope to finish it in the beginning of March.
Normal People by Sally Rooney
I saw this book all over the bookstagram and booktok world so when I saw this in my little free give-and-take neighborhood library I knew I had to pick it up. It takes us through the years of how two people try to stay apart but find that they just can’t. The author has a few other books that I added to my book queue, if you are curious about that make sure to follow me on Good Reads.
Everything is #@%!ed A Book About Hope by Mark Manson
This is the third book by blogger Mark Manson. The first one that you might be familiar with is The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck. I listened to this book through Audible and it was extremely good so I knew I had to get a copy of this book.
Adulting How to Become a Grown-Up in 535 Easy(ish) Steps by Kelly Williams Brown
I love the concept of this book. When I graduated university a few years and started in the real world there was no “manual” to help. I also had the component of living in developing countries (Armenia and Lebanon) with a language barrier so I had to figure out the basics of how to fix my water system in Arabic. This is just a great book to read to figure out the things in life that isn’t taught in school.
I hope you enjoyed my March reading list. Hopefully I am able to get through more books this month since it’s not short like February. Make sure to comment below some of the books you are reading or that are in your book list. I’d love to add more to my list and just read more in general since it’s part of my goals for this year.
Thanks for your recommendations. I see two books I need to add to my list.
Thank you for these recommendations! Will check them in our local library, where I take my teen regularly and it’s time I get a couple books for self 🙂
I’ve heard of two of the books on your list but I haven’t yet read either of them. How to Pronounce Knife sounded really interesting to me. I think this will be my next read.
