This New Year I plan to be INTENTIONAL with everything that I do. To start instead of saying phrases like “read more”, “exercise more” etc. I am putting them to exact numbers. Now, I am definitely not a numbers person but I do believe if I put a sold number to my goals it allows me to be intentional when trying to achieve them. I am also a competitive person so it forces me to compete with myself. So here are my 2023 goals:
Lose 15 pounds
I normally never put a number to my weight goals but recently I have been struggling with my body image. I get frustrated looking in the mirror and seeing the excess weight yet at the same time I am fueling it with my own habits. To improve this and reach my goal I plan to stretch every morning. Atomic Habits by James Clear taught me to pair my current habits with old habits so I am pairing this new habit of stretching with waking up by putting my yoga mat on the floor. If I put my yoga mat on the floor it’s a trigger for me to do the stretches. This will hopefully lead me to go to the gym and get in a good sweat.
Read 25 books for the Year
I used to read so much and said in so many blog posts that I am going to read more, so I decided to make it intentional. In order for me to do that I wrote “dedicate time to reading” because if I put in my schedule that will help in me accomplishing this goal.
Post Twice a Week on my Website
In order for me to achieve this I plan to have a sit down session and map out my posts. If I am more intentional with my blog post and put it to a schedule that will help me get back into it. This includes my Instagram which is like a mini blog for me and my other socials.
Post MWF on Instagram (including reels)
I used to write very intentional IG posts but recently I stopped doing that. I hope to get back into writing intentional posts and posting MWF like my previous schedule. Recently, I also started implementing my reels into my posts so that is something I plan to continue doing.
Journal/Devotional everyday
I was doing really well with this but somehow fell off track. It’s important to spend time in the morning just putting my thoughts to paper and spending time with God. I feel this is important and sets my day to a good start. It’s very easy to get absorbed with negative thoughts and comments but when you put intention into being positive it helps. Speaking of journalling if you would like some cute journals make sure to check my creations on Amazon.
I also recently saw this setup of goal setting and thought I’d give it a shot!
A bad habit I’m going to break: binge eating
A new skill to learn: Reading and writing in Armenian
A good deed I’m going to do: clothing donations for all the seasons
A place I’d like to visit: New Haven, CN and Nashville, TN
A book I’d like to read: Colleen Hoover books
I definitely thought my goals for 2022 were realistic, but life happens and things get out your control. It is true that life is an ebb and flow so I am giving myself a little grace during this time.
I hope you enjoyed reading what my 2023 goals are and how I plan to achieve them. Let me know if the comments below what some of your goals are for the New Year. I would love to know!
