Recently, I have been seeing a lot of Fall related fashion content. It’s a bit early for it, in my opinion, but I do really enjoy Fall fashion more than the other seasons and with the bizarre weather we have been having I might as well just hop on this. The main fashion item of these looks is this Amazon plaid skirt. They have so many colors of this skirt, but one thing to note for it is the sizing. The reviews are very helpful for that, they give their personal sizes and what they got and have a picture of how it looks on them. I would recommend measuring yourself, reviewing the sizing chart, and most importantly the reviews! For reference, I normally wear a medium but for this skirt I got a large. Now onto how to style a plaid skirt for Fall!
Long Sleeve Body Suit
This is a classic way to style a plaid skirt. Just you most basic long sleeve body suit in black and white. These are specifically from Zara. If you have a different color skirt than try to tie in the colors of the skirt into your bodysuit or your accessories. This is a great option to also wear to work because of the high neckline of the top and when you style it modestly with tights it will not show too much.
Knit Sweater
On those chillier Fall days you can style this plaid skirt with a knit sweater, preferably a cropped one. Similar to the above bodysuit you can go with the classics of a cropped black knit sweater or a cropped white knit sweater.
Black Blouse
An easy style option is the black blouse. Pick one that is more to your taste and style. It can be a short sleeve option, a tight fitted option, or a cap sleeve blouse. All of which pair well with the black tights and black knee-high boots. If you are going to style this for work I would recommend wearing a black cardigan over the sleeveless options to keep it modest.
White Peplum Top
This might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but because this is a tighter skirt you can get away with styling it with a peplum top; I opted for white specifically. This can easily be seen as a modest work outfit so nothing to worry about on that front.
Black Knee-High Boots and Tights
Now, all of the above is BEST styled with black knee-high boots and sheer tights. That is just my personal preference and taste. You can however style it with flats, booties, heels, etc. I just think the most classic way is with this combination.
Another tip, when you are transitioning this to the colder months of the Fall season you will probably need a good piece of outerwear. Again, the tip is to tie in the colors of the skirt so in this case the best outwear, regardless of the ways this skirt was styled above, is a simple black coat. I have alway loved the look of the body suits but hate how they feel, LOL! I wore them as a teen and can never forget the wedgees.
Great ideas! We are already getting fall weather here in Alaska so I love how early people are posting about Fall fashion!
