This is not a post about purchases to make that can make you rich, but rather (and as the title states) my best purchases I’ve made in my 20’s. I can go into the fact that investing in your education is important, not saying you have to get a bachelors degree or a masters degree, but rather look into a certification program that can help expand your career. For me personally I am working towards a paralegal certification.
I can also say to make investments in stocks and such but I am not qualified to make these statements but rather what I can say is invest in your financial knowledge. Take mini courses online about investing and see if that is something you might be interested in.
Milk Frother
When the pandemic hit we all began making our coffee at home. This sparked my inner barista where I got creative on how I made my morning cup of coffee. I started with a simple hand held milk frother and recently upgraded to a stainless steel machine.
Air Fryer
At first, I was extremely hesitant on this purchase. I thought how I don’t really fry food and how it might not be healthy or cook my meat thoroughly. I found out everything to the contrary. The air fryer doesn’t need that much oil which makes it slightly healthier and every meat that I have put in this machine has come out beyond perfect!
Warm Winter Coat
Contrary to what everyone tells you, you don’t need that many coats. I found that purchasing a great duck down coat and a wool blend coat has been sufficient. Regardless of how many you prefer to have, just having a good warm winter coat that is practical is beyond important.
Business Attire
From college to corporate. As someone just transitioning into the workforce it is important to start investing in good classic work pieces. I personally love getting my work trousers from Zara, my blazers from H&M, and just basic tops/blouses from random stores. Get yourself pieces that match your personal style and aesthetics.
High End Laptop
I found having a high end laptop is important. I personally have a MacBook Pro that I have been using since 18 years old, so even before my twenties but that just goes to show the bank for your buck on purchasing a high end laptop. Now, this doesn’t mean you have to go out and purchase a Mac, there are many great laptops out there that will fit your personal needs/wants. Make a list of what you will use the laptop for and align your research that way.
Books
Books – contrary to what you might think about book purchases being pointless. I really enjoy self-help books in particular and find that you can read them multiple times and learn something new each time. I am also the type to highlight and write in my books so I can retain the information.
These were the best purchases I’ve made in my 20’s so let me know what purchases you’ve made that were a game changer.
Who said this? “Contrary to what you might think about book purchases being pointless” .. Pointless! I’m glad you set that straight 😀
Books, education (not just school), and travel are the best and most important things to spend money on at every age.
Oh we love our Air Fryer so much and use it almost daily! I do like my milk frother too but it is not used as often.
I purchased a new MacBook last year and it’s only such a key investment for everything I do! Also, a new winter coat is always acceptable! 😍
