In school we read English classics like Animal Farm, The Great Gatsby, The Outsiders, The Alchemist, etc. These are great books to start you off into the world of reading especially if English is your second language. However, I have recently been wrapped into the bookstagram and booktok world and have fallen for almost all these animated novel covers. If you have read any of my previous blog posts about books, you’d know my favorite genre is self-help. You’d also know that I am not that into novels, but these have really changed my perspective on that. So, here are the novels to read if you don’t like novels.
It Ends with Us
This is the first book that brought me into the Colleen Hoover world. The topic of this book is heavy so do be warned on that front, but it is well worth it. I highly recommend giving this book a read.
Beach Read
I fell in love with the characters of this book. I adored January and Augustus as both individuals and together.
In Five Years
This was actually the first book that pulled me into the world of novel reading. I fell in love with the storyline and how things panned out for Dannie.
The Hating Game
A classic love-hate relationship between colleagues. This actually is a movie now so if books aren’t completely your thing than give the movie a go, but remember the books is always better haha.
Recently, there has been an influx of these cartoon-like/animated book covers. I have been gravitating towards them more and more (probably being influenced), but you know if the books aren’t good I wouldn’t go about recommending them. Comment below some of novels to read especially if you have read recently. I’d love to know and add more books to my growing collection.
I’m not exactly a novel reader but I’ll be happy to pick some from this collection. Thanks for your tips!
I’ll check out In Five Years on Amazon after your positive review. Lots of reading getting done this year!
Interesting titles. I’ll try to look for these books and put them on my list.
This is a interesting list for this month, I see a few that I might need to add to my reading list here.
I’m not into novels either … I usually read non-fiction – especially autobiographical. Is #1 your top recommendation. I want to try one to broaden my perspective and help improve my own creative writing
I enjoyed “It Ends with Us” but the topic is a little heavy so I would recommend “In Five Years” 😃
