November marks the beginning of the holiday celebrations in the city. It’s the most magical time in the most magical place. The metropolis offers a great deal of events and exciting sights to see – starting with the New York City Marathon which was this past weekend and by the end of the month New York transforms into a holiday wonderland. Here is a mini New York City Holiday Guide:
Holiday Parades
The New York City Marathon attracts thousands of runners and visitors to the city and this years marks the 50th anniversary. Leading up to Thanksgiving, NYC celebrates Veteran’s Day with one of the largest parades Veteran’s Day Parades in the country. And on Thanksgiving Day we have the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Ice Skating in New York
Whether it is ice skating in dreamy Central Park or in front of the 30 Rock Tree. Ice Skating is one of the fun holiday activities that are setup just about everywhere in the city, including our personal favorite spot Bryant Park.
Holiday Markets
While at Bryant Park don’t forget to check out the cute little holiday markets. You can snag your friends and family some thoughtful and creative gifts.
Black Friday
Speaking of gifts, I can’t be the only one who tries to align my gift purchases with the Black Friday deals. So if you haven’t lucked out with the holiday markets in the past try to align your gifts with the Black Friday deals this year.
Fifth Avenue Decorations
Fifth Avenue goes all out this time of year, dressing up their high-end store fronts with Christmas ornaments and decorations. The one that always mesmerizes us is Saks Fifth Ave store front and the classic one is the Cartier store front.
Radio City Christmas Spectacular
On your New York City Holiday Guide you cannot forget the infamous Rockettes. A 90-minute show with over 140-performers starring the Rockettes is a must-do during the holiday season in New York.
We hope you enjoyed this New York City Holiday Guide. And with the plethora of events/celebrations taking place these coming months, we would like to know which event you are most excited about, this holiday season?

My whole family spend Christmas in NYC once. Decorations, market, ice skating and festivities are really worth going back.
There really is nothing like NYC at the holidays, I was so sad to see how the parade was mishandled last year, it was such a let down for the television viewers. I am hoping that this year gets things back on track to its original glory!
New York Dreams … can’t wait to return one day.
There’s nothing better than NYC at Christmas time! I’m going for a couple of days the week before Christmas and I’m so excited 🙂
Awesome places and pictures. The fifth avenue decorations and the holiday market are my fav.

Woooah for those of us who have never visited NYC, the Fifth Avenue Decorations are incredible! This all looks like so much fun. 🙂
