Throw on your flannels and get your Birkenstock clogs ready because September is here and that means Fall is just around the corner. We are going to be picking pumpkins, apples, and everything in between! We just recently got a car, YAY! another milestone in the books for us, and I am very excited about planning mini trips especially for the fall.
Penning’s Beer Garden
About an hour from New York City there is this cute indoor/outdoor farm/beer garden. We went to the cute farm one year and had a burger and some ice cream, and we regret not doing some apple picking. This year we will make a reservation and tick it off our fall bucket list.
Pumpkin Picking
We said we were picking all the things and what’s the fall season without a proper pumpkin patch?! There’s this farm in Fairfield that I’ve been keeping on my list and aside from pumpkin picking they have a corn maze and a hayride. I am from Hawaii so I am not sure what these are exactly, but my interest is peaked IMMENSELY. So hopefully we give it a go! After the pumpkin picking I plan to crave some pumpkins and make a delicious pumpkin bisque.
Hike in the Fall Air
A couple years ago we did a hike at Bear Mountain towards the tail end of the fall season. This year I am thinking we rent a little room at Bear Mountain and do that hike again!
Haunted House
Back in Hawaii the most autumnal it would get would be visiting a haunted house so it’s no surprise I want to try going to one here. I haven’t solidified where yet, I did see there are a bunch of haunted houses in New Jersey so whatever one peaks our interest as we creep into October. If we chicken out I do want to do an escape room potentially.
New Haven, CT Weekend Trip
I know this is out of the NJ/NYC area but a fall weekend trip to Connecticut has been in my bucket list since my middle school days. I was (and still am) obsessed with Gilmore Girls and my dream is to visit Connecticut and take a Yale University campus tour. Strange, I know, but it’s just something I’ve been wanting to do. Hopefully this year is the year!
Aside from roasting marshmallows, cozying up with a good book, and drinking hot chocolate these are some of my fall bucket list items for this year. If you have any cute ideas let me know below. I would love to see what you are up to. In the meantime, make sure to follow me on my Instagram to see what which of my fall bucket list items we check off this year.
