Last week I was on vacation from my 9-5 job, but ended up taking a vacation from here also. This surprisingly allowed me to catch up on some of my summer reading list that I thought I would share with you all. Let’s start with the type of books I prefer/enjoy the most. My two favorite genres are self-help and novels that are similar to “real life”. For example, the recent novel I listened to through Audible was In Five Years by Rebecca Serle, which is the story of a woman who seems to have it all, but something happens that pulls it right from under her. Here is my current summer reading list:
Untamed by Glennon Doyle
The authors personal story about quitting the act of people pleasing and just living her untamed life.
Welcome Home by Najwa Zebian
Welcome Home is a guide to building a home for your soul.
Twenty-Two by Allison Trowbridge
A series of letters written to young woman searching for meaning in life.
Single Minded by Lisa Daily
Single Minded is about a woman (Alex) who thought her life was successfully on track until she finds out that her husband is gay.
The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett
A historical fiction novel that tells the story of twin girls growing up in the segregated South.
Please leave some suggestions on great self-help books and novels that are similar to real life. I would love to add to my current summer reading list and possibly bring them into the upcoming Fall season. If you are curious what some of my suggestions are for self-help books check out this post.
These look like some great books!
Some great books on your list here – I haven’t read any of these. The first one about giving up people pleasing looks excellent.
Great recommendations! Just got untamed from library, and will also check the others
