Adulthood is a weird transitional part of your life. From when you graduate university to your first job, and everything else that life involves in between. Having it “together” is an illusion everyone strives to achieve, but I have some tips that can actually help you get that facade of having your life together. Being in your twenties is such a chaotic time and these are just five simple ways to get your life together by 25.
Rolloff
Start rolling off your parents health insurance because you will have to at 26 – this is something I started looking into at 25 years old. Exploring what is the best option, how rolling off looks like for both you and your parent, and just the general process.
Credit Score
If you don’t have a credit card what are you waiting for? You will need that to lease or buy your own place/car. Start building your credit score. I started when I was 18 years old because the earlier the better. A good option to start you off is Discover.
Medical Check ups
Regular doctors appointments – your twice a year dentist appointments, your year eye exam, ladies – your OBGYN appointment because cervical cancer is very real. Do your best to have your regular doctor appointments scheduled.
Taxes
Learn to file your taxes or get a proper tax accountant – I have done my taxes both on my own and with a tax accountant so I would recommend trying it out and seeing which option is best for you.
Routines
Have routines – a morning routine, a work out routine, a night routine, etc. Having routines in your life really help ground you and keep you focused. I really recommend getting into a general routine.
You are a quarter of a century old (or young). These are your prime years, the better prepared you are for the future the better things will be as you get older. One thing to always remember is not to have FOMO – the fear of missing out, because trust me you are not missing out. There are plenty of things in life that you could be putting your focus and energy to.
All good – can I add another? No matter how much you are earning have a percentage for savings and another for long term investment.
Love this yes. Thank you for sharing!
Great tips! Love the last one about having a routine, whatever your age is
I’m well past 25, however a great list. Never too old to follow it and get your life on track!
