After many failed attempts I finally master the infamous whipped coffee recipe AKA Dalgona coffee. At first I was fooled by the easiness of it so I tried whipping the ingredients by hand, learn from my mistakes DO NOT STIR BY HAND!
The next best thing for me was a hand whisk, but my specific whisk was too big for the concoction. I then looked at my milk frother and thought, this may do the trick…and to my surprise it did! So what you’ll need to make this aesthetically appealing and equally delicious coffee drink:
What You’ll Need
How to Make Dalgona Coffee
Combined equal parts sugar, instant coffee, and water into a bowl or large cup. TIP! Tilt the bowl sideways to prevent from small coffee splatters. The initial look will be like this…
Mix until it turns to a light brown consistency. I thought about doing it with no sugar, as I try to limit my sugar intake in general, but based on science the sugar is necessary ingredient as it sticks the solids and liquids together. Without the sugar the combination will end up breaking.
In a previous post I talked about the delicious freddo cappuccinos / freddo lattes of Greece… this has been the closes I’ve gotten to those! The texture, the consistency, the mix of flavors, etc.
Whether you call it whipped coffee, Dalgona coffee, TikTok coffee, the Greek frappe, etc. the basic concept stands of combining these three ingredients in a 1:1 ratio and beating it to a thick creamy consistency. A reverse latte in a sense!
Enjoy this amazingly delicious drink! Take pictures and share with me on my Instagram.
